How to Copy Trades Across Multiple Prop Firm Accounts in NinjaTrader 8

If you trade with prop firms, you probably don't have just one account. You have an evaluation you're trying to pass, a funded account you're protecting, and maybe two or three more across different firms. Placing the same trade in each one by hand — entry, stop, target, then adjusting for each account's size — is slow, error-prone, and exactly when a fast market punishes you.

Copying trades solves this: you trade once, and every other account mirrors it automatically. This guide explains how that works in NinjaTrader 8, the pitfalls to avoid, and what a good trade copier actually needs to do.

What is trade copying?

A trade copier links one account (the "master" or leader) to one or more others (the "followers"). When you enter, exit, move a stop or a target on the master, the copier instantly repeats that action on every follower. You manage one chart and one decision; the software handles the repetition.

Why traders copy across prop firm accounts

  • Scale up: the same setup runs across several funded accounts at once, multiplying your payout potential from one decision.
  • Run evaluations and funded accounts together: keep passing new evals while your funded accounts trade the same plan.
  • Diversify across firms: spread your accounts over different prop firms without doubling your screen time.
  • Trade consistently: every account follows the exact same plan, instead of drifting because you got to one account a few seconds late.

The challenges in NinjaTrader 8

NinjaTrader 8 is a professional platform, but out of the box it doesn't mirror a discretionary trade across several accounts in real time. Doing it manually runs into four problems:

  • Speed: in a fast market, the seconds you spend clicking through each account move the price against you.
  • Sizing: a 50K account and a 150K account shouldn't take the same contract size — each one needs its own ratio.
  • Risk rules: prop firms have trailing drawdown, daily loss limits and consistency rules; one account slipping breaks them.
  • Discipline: doing everything by hand invites fat-finger mistakes exactly when you're under pressure.

What to look for in a trade copier

  • Real-time speed: copies should land in milliseconds, not after a noticeable delay.
  • Per-account sizing: set a different contract ratio for each follower so account sizes are respected.
  • Built-in risk protection: auto-flatten at a set time, and account locks when you hit a profit or loss target, keep you inside prop-firm rules.
  • Works across firms: it should copy between accounts at different prop firms, not just within one.
  • Runs inside NinjaTrader 8: no bridge to a second app that adds lag or another point of failure.

How TGReplicator handles it

TGReplicator is built for exactly this. It runs inside NinjaTrader 8 and mirrors every entry, exit, stop and target from one master to unlimited followers in real time — typically in under 50 milliseconds. Each follower gets its own sizing ratio, so a 50K and a 150K account can follow the same plan at the right size.

It also protects you from yourself. You can auto-flatten every position at a time you choose (say, 3:45 PM New York), lock an account the moment it hits your profit or loss target, and group accounts so different sets can follow different leaders. It's copying plus the guardrails prop-firm trading actually needs.

One important note before you start

Every prop firm sets its own rules, and some have specific policies about copy trading or running the same strategy across accounts. Before you scale, read your firm's rules — or ask their support — to confirm that copying across your accounts is allowed. A copier is a powerful tool; using it within your firm's terms keeps your accounts safe.
